I start this new year with a confession: I’ve been doing probably a little too much shopping recently.
My (personal) makeup bag has ran out of several items, so I’ve been enjoying being a consumer over the holiday season; checking out what’s new, going back to old favorites, as well as discovering a few new ones.
First up: K Beauty.
I’m seriously late to the game, which is shameful, I know. (And I call myself a makeup artist?)
But I’ve been loving a few products, namely the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil. I was on the hunt for a new eyebrow pencil since I went to Sephora and found out that my beloved Tarte The Eyebrow Architect was discontinued.
And I was actually seriously bummed out – it’s one of the only products I actually used up completely, and it’s an amazing product. You can still find it online at Amazon, but my thin, sparse brows were desperate and needed something quick.
I found out about the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil from my colleague/fellow makeup artist/friend of mine at the salon I work at, and this is a great dupe for my Tarte eyebrow pencil at more than half the price, which excited me.
Because as a makeup artist, I don’t care much about the product itself – where it’s from, how it looks like – as long as it works.
You can find true makeup and beauty gems that are better than high end ones – as you’ll find out from reading my blog, I actually prefer affordable to high end – and I believe this is one of them.
The color is perfect – ashy, as all brow colors should be – easy to use, doesn’t tug on the skin and overall, a great little find. The color intensity is not as great as Tarte’s, though at the same time that also means this one looks much more natural and soft.
What a nice introduction to K Beauty! I’m looking forward to talking more about K Beauty in the new year.
Stay tuned, and in the meantime… if you have any recommends, please share!
