A few weeks ago, I raced downtown to the launch event of Guardian’s Crystal Moist, and found myself at quite a peculiar location: a high-end, luxury bathroom showroom!
If you know anything about me, it would be that anytime I go to a hotel, I go to their luxurious bathrooms first – and imagine a luxurious bathroom big enough for 100 people. The showroom was transformed to the most beautiful little “personal bathroom”, showcasing Guardian’s new skincare range, Crystal Moist.
The range launched with 2 separate lines; Bright ION+ brightening line and Hydra ION+ hydrating Line, and out of the two, I was most interested in the Hydra ION+ range. (Since that’s my skincare concern, usually.) The cool deep blue packaging is not only gorgeous, but is an indication to the product’s formula itself. I spent a lot of time at the event testing out each product, and each product’s formula feels very light and cool to the skin.
The ambassador of the range, Ju Eun-Young of K-pop girl group TWO X, was also in attendance and spoke to us about the new range. And the one thing that stood out for me the whole evening was its positioning as a “starter” anti-aging line for Singaporean women, aiming at those 24 years and older. Which I think is excellent.
Why? Because anti-aging products today can be too rich for us 20-somethings. Some of them today are loaded with thick emollients, fragrances and other things that can still make our young skin break out in zits. They work too well for us, in a way. And with Crystal Moist being an “in-between” – I think that’s fantastic. It performs better than the usual moisturizer you may use at the drugstore, but less than those very intense anti-aging which your skin really doesn’t need right now.
Made in Korea, this mineral skincare brand boasts ingredients such as Korean Deep Ocean Water, Hyaluronic Acid, Seaweed Extract and Moss Roses, and is said to be as refreshing as the ocean water, and I agree! The products – my faves so far are the Moisturizing Facial Gel and the Facial Essence – sunk into the skin while still leaving a dewy, hydration feel on top of the skin.
I have a great feeling about this brand (Guardian is releasing some awesome products right now, like their recent under eye masks, which I also loved) and will continue to test out Crystal Moist and report more in the future. In the meantime, check out Crystal Moist at all Guardian outlets in Singapore or online, and let me know what you think of the new line as well.
