Kate Middleton’s Wedding Day Scent

It’s the scent of a princess!

OK, technically “The Duchess of Cambridge” but pfft. She will be princess someday! (Right?)

Either way, the whole world was watching Kate Middleton’s wedding over a year ago (can you believe it’s been so long?!), and naturally, everyone had questions, especially about the stunning bride: Who was she wearing? Who did her hair? What makeup did she use? How do we land a prince too?Β (Sorry, that last one was my question.)

We last talked about her wedding makeup, but her scent was not really talked about until much later. It was also later revealed what her perfume of choice was of her wedding day: White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum, a gorgeous fresh floral scent featuring notes of lily, gardenia, ylang ylang, and jasmine. It’s been quite hard to find (as you can imagine), but America, rejoice (!) because the scent is available at Henri Bendel next week.

For the rest of the world, you can buy it online here.

What do you think of Kate’s choice for her wedding day? I approve, because I like anything gardenia (and less face it, anything Kate) and I really hope I get the chance to try it out someday.Β And for my readers who are married – what scent did you wear on your wedding day?

I’m indexed with Kate Middleton! She’s so gorgeous, and I’m so curious as to what the scent is like! xx

  • Eve

    *obsessed haha!

    • Renee

Hehehe. Autocorrect? I have that! How did they get indexed from obsessed haha!

I am so curious as well! I wish we could buy samples at least πŸ˜›

I actually didn’t wear any perfume on my wedding day. πŸ˜›
    Totally forgot about it. Oops!

I’d totally love to try this one. I love jasmine and lily. πŸ˜€

    • Renee

Aww! Well I am SURE you had plenty on your mind that day than perfume. πŸ™‚

I’m obsessed with perfume though so I think that would be one of my top priorities, as crazy as that sounds (although I haven’t experienced wedding planning so maybe I can’t talk!) πŸ˜›

I like Kate but I couldn’t really focus on her on her wedding day, I was too busy giving birth to my baby πŸ™‚

    • Renee

Oh wow, congratulations πŸ™‚ So your baby must be over a year old now, how wonderful πŸ™‚

Hmm never thought of the use of perfume on wedding day. Definitely something fresh and delicate. Really want to smell that though.

    • Renee

I agree! Kai fragrance comes to mind (coming up in a review!), and also Dolce And Gabbana’s Light Blue… but I am biased because that’s my first scent and I love it πŸ™‚ It’ll definitely fit a garden/outdoor wedding, it’s so citrus-y and fresh πŸ˜€

I love gardenia too. I would love to have a sniff of this! I wore Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea when I got married. Everytime I’ve worn it thereafter, I always think happy thoughts.

    • Renee

I can imagine! Perfume and scent is great for remembering memories, that’s why if I ever get married I must choose the perfect scent, haha! Guerlain is always amazing, great choice! What does the perfume smell like? πŸ™‚

It’s a lovely feminine floral scent (apparently the main notes are orange blossom, honey and seringa) that wears well in hot and humid weather – my wedding was in SG – and it’s also formal enough for night time. It’s an easy perfume to wear and has a my-skin-but-better element to it which I thought was a little sensual but not over the top for a day of love πŸ™‚

  • Mollie

    That. Sounds. Fantastic.

    • Renee

I know! I wanna try it πŸ™ Although I have to say, the bottle seems very masculine-looking for a feminine scent, don’t you think?

  • Molly

I didn’t wear any perfume on my wedding day! πŸ™

    • Renee

You were probably very busy thinking about other things, I am sure? πŸ˜€

If you could redo, what perfume would you choose?

  • Love Kate πŸ™‚ thnx for your comment on my blog!

White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum was sold out for MONTHS in the UK. It is an amazing scent that took me two months to get hold of! There is a really limited supply and all the celebrities and the very wealthy love to wear! The smell is absolutely gorgeous and lasts all day. It is not ‘perfume’ it is ‘oud’ which is much more powerful. If you can find it get it before it goes!!!
