Hit or Miss? Lancome Blanc Expert Cushion Compact Foundation

Lancome Blanc Expert Cushion Compact foundation Review SingaporeMy first introduction to Lancome’s new cushion compact foundation was while I was in the Eurostar leaving Paris (sob) to London earlier this summer.

It was early in the morning, and I was reading French Vogue and eating breakfast (and would’ve felt really chic, if only I had remembered to brush my hair). The ad for this foundation made me stop mid-chew, because it was a cushion compact foundation. “What is a cushion compact?!”

Of course, cushion compacts are very popular now if you’re in tune with Asian beauty trends (or should I say Korean beauty trends), and since I wasn’t, I had no idea they existed. (Bad beauty blogger!) I also believe this may be the first Western brand to come out with one.

Either way, Lancome is starting this trend in Western makeup with a bang! Lancome makes some of the best foundations in my opinion, and this new offering, named Lancome Blanc Expert Cushion Compact Foundation, is no different. I’ve been trying it out on myself, and also actually used it on a bride over the weekend. She wanted something very light, natural and flawless, and this was perfect.

While the compact comes with a soft application sponge, I still apply it with my fingers (that’s my preference with all foundation, though) and it applies super smooth due to it’s thin, runny formula, and gives a brighter, slightly dewy effect.

Best of all, it didn’t need any touchups after a whole day (for myself, running around town, and for my bride, who had it on from morning ’til night). And even if you do need some touch ups, the cushion compact is also very handy and sturdy, perfect to keep in your handbag without worrying about spills.

In other words, a great foundation and one to definitely check out. Keep in mind that the coverage is very light, so it’s great for those like me who like their makeup natural looking; and the SPF 23/PA++ makes it great as an everyday product to use. If you desire more coverage in a foundation, try out Teint Miracle, another favorite of mine from Lancome.
