Hello from London, UK!
I’m reporting from another city I absolutely adore, but after Paris (have you checked out My French Pharmacy report yet?), I am quite exhausted so I probably won’t be doing much beauty coverage here.
I did, however, meet up with one of my childhood friends for a day, and of course, this included a major Harrod’s shopping spree as she was looking for a few beauty items and needed my help.
It probably comes at no surprise (although it’s always a surprise to me when asked, what an honor!) that I’ve become sort of the beauty go-to person in my group of friends. First up was looking for a new foundation, and I brought her straight to Laura Mercier. As you know, I think they make the best base products – foundation, tinted moisturizer, concealer, powder… Laura Mercier is the best.
The makeup artist at the counter suggested the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Photo Edition Foundation, their newest launch, and I think I’m gonna have to get myself a tube when I get home to Singapore as well. She applied it onto my friend’s skin brush-free, while I noticed the smooth consistency to it, and it’s medium coverage. It reminded me every so slightly about Make Up For Ever’s famous HD foundation, but with a “bouncy”, whipped formula and a dewy finish.
The makeup artist explained that she prefers to apply foundation with her fingertips for a more natural look, and I so agree with her – I work with my hands a lot when doing makeup and less with brushes (as much as I can, of course), and it really does give such a natural finish.
Sure enough, my friend’s face looked absolutely incredible, flawless, dewy – and photo ready, of course – that she bought the foundation on the spot. Once again, LM has done it. Definitely one to check out, you can get it on Amazon.com.
