My (personal) makeup bag has ran out of several items, so I’ve been enjoying being a consumer over the holiday season; checking out what’s new, going back to old favorites, as well as discovering a few new ones.
First up: K Beauty.
I’m seriously late to the game, which is shameful, I know. (And I call myself a makeup artist?) But I’ve been loving a few products, namely the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil. I was on the hunt for a new eyebrow pencil since I went to Sephora and found out that my beloved Tarte The Eyebrow Architect was discontinued. And I was actually seriously bummed out – it’s one of the only products I actually used up completely, and it’s an amazing product. You can still find it online at Amazon, but my thin, sparse brows were desperate and needed something quick.
I found out about the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil from my colleague/fellow makeup artist/friend of mine at the salon I work at, and at $5.50, this is a great dupe for my Tarte eyebrow pencil at more than less the price. The color is perfect – ashy, as all brow colors should be – easy to use, doesn’t tug on the skin and overall, pretty great. The lasting power is not as great as Tarte’s – that one was waterproof – but for $5.50, I’m not complaining. Touchups are quick and easy, and it’s a great little find.
While I was at Etude House, I also picked up their lipliner which, at $4, I have no complaints either. It’s everything you may want in a lip liner: it lasts, it’s easy to use, and the formula is dry enough to really hold your lip color in place.
Bottom line? What a nice introduction to K Beauty! I’m looking forward to talking more about K Beauty in the new year. Stay tuned, and in the meantime… if you have any recommends, please share!
