In this industry, things are never certain until you see the final product. I remember back in school when I was doing some teen modeling (a time in my life that still makes me cringe), I got booked as the “face” of a fashion campaign and I was beyond excited! I told all my friends and couldn’t wait to see it out.
And then, the boss didn’t like the direction of the photoshoot afterward (something about the look being too clean and whitewashed, I heard, so the campaign we spent so long shooting was axed at the last minute. I was devastated!
So I wasn’t really surprised when the same thing happened after a super fun video shoot with MAC at their famous TANGS Plaza.
It was a video for their new makeup summer collection and I was not only the model for it but also got to speak quite a bit. Unfortunately, it was only after filming that I was told the sound wasn’t clear enough, and since summer was practically over, they decided not to reshoot and that was that.
Still, I realized something: It ain’t so bad talking on camera! It was my very first time and I had a lot of fun. (When I first started blogging, I was too shy and scared to put up a photo of myself on the Internet, and was actually “anonymous” for a couple of years of starting this blog. I eventually “revealed” myself 2 years later at… the MAC store at Tangs Plaza! Go figure.) I suppose now – and the point of this post (yes there is a point); is that now that I’ve done it, you can expect videos soon! I’ve been asked so many time to do videos, but it’s something I’ve been hesitant to do. Stay tuned…
